Creamy Berry Dream Smoothie
Alright so I know you probably thought this be your some ole regular degular smoothie recipe but nope. Sometimes I like to be original you know kind of fit in the norm but this time I was feeling for something a bit new something to remind me of a milkshake without all the Cals lol I mean nothing wrong with a good ole fashion smoothie don’t let me stop you!!! But I don’t think you click on a smoothie recipe if you were thinking huh I can go for a milkshake right now unless that is your snack time treat no hate do your thing.
Now let me tell you, I been on a “I want to eat better” kind of year but still want yummy stuff. and still have some of the things I enjoy well a version of it so here this recipe was born. I been just getting back into smoothies because for awhile my taste buds was like smoothies who? Yuck I don’t know I guess we all go through those weird phrases because Hunny let me tell you. I love baby food (you know the banana flavor one) and that’s what smoothies remind me of sometimes or applesauce but the texture I just couldn’t do it even though I love me a smoothie! Sigh like what is not to love? It’s quick, easy, packed with nutrition if you do it right, can be a meal replacement and oh did I forget to say quick?!!!! YEAHHHH soo imma smoothie girl who about to throw me my welcome back celebration?!………………………………………………………………… Really wow, shucks thanks, HAHA
Why This Smoothie Is The Bomb Diggity
Because it is……….. now we got that out of the way, nah am just joking or am I? This smoothie is a cross between berry much and creamy, its the perfect marriage and the tanginess you get from the cream cheese is flavor contender. But as I later on so in the blog I understand that’s an acquired taste that you can swap out if you so desire with suggestions below and if you into that milkshake thingy I was talking about swap the milk for some half and half and thank me later it’s our little secret down tell no one iight?

Easy Swaps and Add-Ins

And if you looking for any veggies in this smoothie you won’t find it but no one be mad at you if you decide to add some beets. Swaps
Swap cream cheese: Use cottage cheese
Swap strawberry cream cheese: Use plain cream cheese and two tablespoons strawberry jam/preserves/jelly
Swap milk: if your lactose intolerant or prefer nut or seed milks you can use them instead like oat or soy milk
Add-Ins
Add banana: For more creamy texture
Add protein powder: For a boost of more protein then just the Greek yogurt and to use as a meal replacement or post workout drink
Balancing The Cream cheese Flavor
This smoothie is an acquired taste because of the cream cheese it has a bit of tanginess, but using a strawberry flavor cream cheese adds a bit of sweetness. You can also add a tablespoon of maple syrup or agave if you prefer a sweeter smoothie.
*** I forgot to say I used Plain Greek Yogurt, I prefer to use the plain because then I can better control the sweetness ***
