Decision Making with Christ
Hey ladies! Decision making .. let’s talk about it. Recently I had to make a tough decision with one of my closest relationships. Typically we have two choices, mine were to stay comfortable but miserable or get uncomfortable and experience the full freedom God wants to share with me. Sometimes we try to compromise what God has for us for our comfort. Since God is so loving we do get to choose what we want but at what cost.
Trust Falling
With a lot of contemplating and back forth I chose the second option: get uncomfortable and experience full freedom. So what is that for you? Saying no to that relationship, career change, or stepping out of the family norm. What is that promise that God shared with you? That reminds me of Philippians 1:6 which states “being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.” God doesn’t want us in bondage. He wants us to experience the fullness of life, He wants us to have peace, He wants us to be completely free from whatever keeps us from Him.
But let’s be real, who likes to be uncomfortable. That’s not in our nature. Most people fear the unknown but we’re also equipped with weapons to combat that fear. What is it you may ask? It’s the word of God. 2 Timothy 1:7 tells us “For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind”. Hold onto the truths and repeating them as many times as you need. 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18 shares another truth stating “ Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, in everything give thanks; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.” Giving thanks - let’s talk about that. Giving thanks shifts our perspective off us and onto Him. Worship shakes up the plans of the enemy. What worship song revitalizes your spirit into a joyful one? We have to remember the tools given to us to walk through the wilderness into the promise land. What could have taken eleven days took FORTY years due to the lack of trust in His promise. So sometimes we get that tug to quit our job, to pursue the dreams God placed in our hearts, that calls for a trust fall. I’m not telling everyone to quit their job but we do ask so many questions about the details. And the details is everything God already took care of. I want to remind you and encourage you that you’re in His hands, He will never leave you or forsake you, and He makes everything work out for your good. How do I know that? Well the word tells me so “And we know that God causes everything to work together for the good of those who love God and are called according to his purpose for them.” That’s from Romans 8:28. I hope you see a theme here, to make those tough decisions and move forward we must consult God, utilize the tools he gave us, and remind ourselves that we are equipped. We are equipped with the word, prayer, and worship.
Girl you got this in the bag. I’m not saying it will always be easy because then I would be lying but it will be worth it. And when you face that resistance from advancing forward, that’s when you lean into your tool belt. Lean into the One who made you because He got you. And if you keep putting one foot in front of the other.. you will make it. Okayyy byyyyeeeeeeeee teehee
